NEW YORK (PIX11) — Rain is expected to drench New York and New Jersey beginning Wednesday and stretching into the later half of the week, forecasters warn.
The downpour is expected to make for a messy evening commute and may possibly continue into Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
Here’s when the rain is expected to hit the area.
Timeline for rain
There’s 40% chance of rain starting around 5 p.m., according to forecasters from the National Weather Service. That likelihood rises to more than 70% at 8 p.m. with rain expected to continue throughout the night into Thursday morning, experts say.
Residents will likely have a wet morning commute as they wake up to some residual showers, NWS shows. Thursday will likely be a washout with rain expected to continue through Friday morning.
