All employees are accounted for after a structural collapse at Seabrook Brothers and Sons, a fruit and vegetable processing plant near Bridgeton, New Jersey, according to Cumberland County Commissioner Kevin Smaniotto.
The collapse happened at the plant before 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the unit block of Finley Road in Upper Deerfield Township.

Smaniotto said all employees at the processing plant are accounted for. He said about 150 employees were inside.
Crews helped two employees out of the building, Smaniotto said. One refused medical treatment, and the other was sent to a local medical center for treatment for what Smaniotto said was a minor injury. One emergency responder was sent to the hospital with a possible heat-related illness.
The call originally came in as a report of an explosion, but officials later clarified there’s no evidence of one. It’s unclear what led to the building’s partial collapse.
Smaniotto said there was a minor ammonia release from the facility. Air quality and ammonia levels are being monitored, and there’s no current concern about additional structural failures.
“This is a facility that processes fruits, vegetables and things, and then they freeze them, which is what the ammonia is used for, the freezing of those food products, and then it’s shipped out,” Smaniotto said.
There’s no threat or concern for the public in the surrounding area, Smaniotto said.
